Abstract
Background:Lifestyle is always changing and can affect a person's health status, Measurement of blood pressure status and body mass index be an alternative to early detection of risk factors duehealth problems. Reasearch Purposes: Determine the relationship between lifestyle with the blood pressure status and body mass index of fourth semester students of Nutrition Study Program FIK UMS. Method:This research uses descriptive quantitative research with cross sectional approach. Samples were taken using purposive sampling method 60 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire lifestyle (diet, physical activity, and stress), measuring blood pressure, height, and weight. Statistical data analysis using chi square test. Results:The results show the frequency distribution of the sexes the majority of women (83%), lifestyle mostly without risk (58%), blood pressure measurements consist of the normal category (70%), hypotension (18%) and high normal (12). While body mass index consists of the normal category (54%), BB more (18%), obesity (15%), and the remaining thin (13%). The results of statistical tests of significance lifestyle values obtained with the blood pressure status (p = 1.209), and body mass index (p = 0.272) with the assumption that there is no relationship. Conclusion:Lifestyle fourth semester students of Nutrition Study Program is not a factor affecting the status of blood pressure status and body mass index. Blood pressure status and BMI is not only influenced by lifestyle, but there are other factors that can affect them, such as health status, progress, etc. Keywords: lifestyle, blood pressure status, body mass index.
