Abstract

Munawaroh, Ulumi. 2016. “Application Learning Management System Edmodo on Basic Programming at SMK Negeri Matesih”. Thesis Master program of Educational Administration Graduate School. Muhammadiyah Surakarta University. Advisor I Prof. Dr. Budi Murtiyasa, M.Kom, Advisor II Dr. Maryadi, M.A This study aims to describe 1) the variety of activities of students in using LMS edmodo; 2) the response of students in using LMS edmodo; 3) the advantages and disadvantages of LMS Edmodo as a learning medium. This study uses qualitative research methods with phenomenological design. The place of research in Matesih State Vocational School. The informants involved are the Head of Study Program, Teachers and students of class X. Data collection techniques with interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study use data collection analysis models, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that 1) the variety of activities of students in using the edmodo learning management system application is that students make edmodo as a place to discussion, give assignments and quizzes; 2) The use of Edmodo's LMS application provides a positive response to students, especially in stimulating students' curiosity;3) LMS Edmodo has the advantages offered, especially its features that help the teacher, easy to understand and use. The disadvantage of edmodo is the unavailability of video conferencing and is very dependent on the internet network. Keywords: edmodo, LMS , learning media
