Abstract
The study aim to know how to stimulation process in literacy capability at pre-school children by their mother. This research includes qualitative research in the form of case studies. This research was conducted in the City of Salatiga, with the criteria of informants: mothers who stimulate children's literacy skills at pre-school ages 3-6 years, so that their children's literacy abilities develop, mothers live at home with children. Based on these criteria, the researcher found five informants who were willing to be examined. Data collection in the form of interviews. The results show that there are 8 basic things in the process of stimulating literacy skills in pre-school children: the mother's view of child literacy, the stages of child development, the way mothers gain knowledge, supporting facilities, forms of activities, supporting factors, obstacles, and ways to overcome obstacles.
