Abstract
This research has three goals to be achieved. (1) Describe the form and function of expressive speech act in the series Adit Sopo Jarwo. (2) Describe the form of alternative teaching materials in the analysis of expressive speech acts in Adit Sopo Jarwo series. (3) Describe expressive speech acts. This research includes descriptive research with qualitative method of observation and review of documents, using inductive data analysis, that is drawing conclusions from the data that is special. The results of this study found three things. (1) This study found 36 conversations containing expressive speech acts. It consists of 8 expressive speech acts apologizing. 7 expressive speech acts thank you. 5 expressive speech acts apologize. 10 expressive speech acts give praise. 1 expressive speech acts to congratulate. 5 expressive expressive speech acts. (2) The expressive speech act can be taught by the Indonesian teacher at high school level in general Indonesian subjects class X KD 3.7, KD 4.7 3.14, KD 4.14, while class IX in KD 3.8 and KD 4.8. Indonesian subjects specialize in class X in KD 3.2, while class XI in KD is 3.6, KD 3.7, KD 4.7, KD 3.8, and KD 4.8.
