The data were then analyzed based on the 8-level Trosborg’srequestscategories and Brown and Levinson’s politeness theory. The finding of this research showed that most respondents used asking permission strategy to make requests although some others were also used such ashints, ability, willingness, statement of speakers’ want, statement of speaker’s desire and need and imperative. As for politeness three types of strategy were mostly used including bald on record, positive politeness and negative politeness.
