Abstract
Interest is a sense of preference and a sense of interest in a thing or activity, with no one to tell. Interest is an important factor in following Accounting Profession Education. This study aims to test and analyze career motivation, economic motivation, quality motivation, social motivation, and motivation of the degree of interest of students following the accounting profession education. Population in this research is all student of accountancy force year 2014-2015. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method using slovin or taro yamane formula. Pursuant to purposive sampling method obtained sample counted 84 respondents. Data analysis method used in this research is descriptive statistic, data quality test (validity test and reliability test) classic assumption test (data normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test), hypothesis test (multiple linear regression analysis test, significance test model (F test), test of coefficient of determination (R2), and partial regression test (t test)). Based on the data quality test results show that all variables avoid the validity and reliability. Based on the classical assumption test shows that the data is normally distributed, there are no symptoms of multicolinearity, and heteroscedasticity. Based on the results of testing the significance of the model (F test) shows that the independent variables (career motivation, economic motivation, quality motivation, social motivation, and motivation degree) affect the dependent variable (student interest). Based on partial regression test (t test) showed that career motivation and economic motivation variables influence student interest, while motivation of quality, social motivation, and motivation of degree have no effect to student interest.
