Abstract

Counseling counseling has a service that guides and encourages students to determine and prepare for a future job, the service is a career guidance service. In Sondakan State Elementary School, career guidance services are applied to identify the talents and potential of the students and to channel the activities according to the students' potential. The purpose of the study is. (1) to describe the stages of career guidance at Sondakan State Elementary School, (2) to know the implementation of career guidance in developing career and self-potential of students, (3) to know the obstacles in implementing career guidance. The research approach is qualitative with qualitative descriptive research type. In collecting data using interview method, observation, documentation. The data analysis of researchers using qualitative descriptive by reducing the data and then presents the data in the form of brief descriptions and concluded flexible to answer the formulation of existing problems. The result of the research shows that (1) career guidance is given to the students in accordance with the stage of career development that is to hone the potential of the child and to explore the potential of the academic and academic students, (2) the career guidance service make the students mapped according to their own potential, digging and sharpening the potential of students, channeling talents according to the students' abilities, (3) the obstacles experienced by the school are cost and wakktu, while experienced by students is boredom, lazy, and often noisy in class.
