Abstract

This research aims to improve mathematics learning motivation of students class V in SD Negeri 03 Jatiroyo in the academic year 2017/2018 through seat arrangement. This research was a qualitative research, using classroom action research design. The techniques of acquiring data used are observation and documentation. Data validity used in this research is triangulation technique, which consist of source triangulation and technique triangulation. The result of this study indicated that students’ mathematics learning motivation has increased. The increase can be proved by the increasing achievement of students’ mathematics learning motivation in each cycle. The percentage of students who meet the criteria of success in pre cycle is 0% or no students who reach the criteria of achievement, on the cycle I of 43,75% or a number of 7 students, and cycle II of 87,50% or a number 14 students. Furthermore, based on the average achievement of students’ mathematics learning motivation indicators on the pre cycle of 50,31%, cycle I of 68,74%, and cycle II of 85,49%. Based on the research result, can be concluded that seat arrangement can improve mathematics learning motivation of students class V in SD Negeri 03 Jatiroyo in the academic year 2017/2018.
