Abstract
This study aims to determine the chemical composition of glass compilers and then compared with the standard chemical composition for glass enameling. This study also aims to determine the effect of HCL on gray cast iron, by looking at micro and adhesion between enamel and low carbon steel surface. This study uses SEM (Scaning Electron Microscope) test to determine the chemical composition of glass. Meanwhile, to determine the effect of HCL on the surface of gray cast iron was done surface roughness testing and micro photo testing. To know the result of tightness of glass coating is done bonding test in accordance with European Standard EN10209. Based on the test results can be concluded that, glass that can be used in glass coating is a glass that has a chemical composition close to the standard chemical composition of enamel glass, which has a low content of silica percentage and the percentage of alumina and floor is quite high. In testing of micro and bond photographs of HCL effect on gray cast iron surface, the best strength of bonding results in the duration of metal immersion in HCl fluid with type of sandpaper 220 for 30 hours.
