Abstract

This research paper studies the linguistic form, type of meaning, and the function of slogan. The object of the research is the form of English slogan of electronic products. The data sources come from electronic products sold in service store in a phrase and sentence forms which enclosed English slogan. In gathering the data, the writer uses documentation method. The crucial objectives of this research are: the first is to describe the linguistic form of English slogan of electronic products. The second is to describe the meaning of English slogan of electronic products. The last is to describe the function of English slogan of electronic products. The data from the electronic products are analyzed based on the linguistic form theory, the lingual contexts (semantics), and the function of slogan concept. The result of the research paper is, first that the most general linguistics form on English slogan of electronic products is Noun Phrase. Second, the English slogan of electronic product use mostly conceptual meaning. Third, the English slogan of electronic product use mostly persuasion in slogan function.
