Abstract

Consumtif behavior is the tendency of a person to consume no limit, buy something excessive or unspeakably. Consumtif behavior is not based on need, but driven by passion and desire. The purpose of the study to determine the relationship between self-control with consumptive behavior in housewives. This research is a quantitative research, where looking for variable relation depends on independent variable. Determination of the subjects in this study is the village housewife Turus Klaten district, with sampling techniques using accidental sampling technique. Of the population ± 200 people using 100 quota divided into 3 RT each RT 01 as many as 30 people, RT 02 as many as 35 people, and Rt 03 as many as 35 people. The research data were collected using measuring instruments of self-control scale and consumptive behavior scale. Data analysis technique using Non Parametric Spearman Rho Correlation technique. Based on Non Parametric Spearman Rho correlation analysis, the coefficient of -0.324 was obtained with a significant level of 0.000. The results of the study there is a very significant negative relationship between self-control with consumptive behavior in housewives. This means that the higher the self-control the lower consumer behavior in housewives, and vice versa, the lower the self-control, the higher the consumer behavior in housewife. Effective contribution of self control variable 10,49% and 89,551% other factor. The level of self-control of housewives in Turus Village Klaten district is in the high category. The level of consumptive behavior in housewives in Turus Village Klaten district is in the medium category Keywords: control, behavior, housewife
