Abstract

Bullying is a social problem still requiring serious managementin its preventive attempt. Family as the environment closest to children playing an important role in the process in which the relation between father, mother and child as the perpetrator and victim of bullying becoming the focus feasible to discuss. This research aimed to describe the psychological dymanics of relation between father, mother, and children in perpetrator and victim of bullying. This research employed a qualitative approach with case study method with thematic analysis. Data collection employed semi structured interview and observation technique with event sampling method. Informans were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling consisting of two victims and two victims and perpetrators of bullying all at once, as well as their fathers and mothers. Supporting informants were teachers in the children’s school. The result of research showed that the relation of father and mother to child getting physical punishment leads the children to be potential victim and or perpetrator of bullying. The interaction between father and mother in the form of quarrel witnessed by child becomes negative modeling to the interaction between child and his/her environment. Spirituality dimentions of istighfar (asking for forgives to God) and gratitude arise after the bullying incidence, followed with self-introspection and new commitment to establish positive communication. The result of research could be the material of consideration to the development of prevention and intervention program in order to detect the potential bullying through improving interpersonal communication ability, selecting disciplining method and emotional proximity to child in family. .
