Abstract

Travel motor serves as a steering and brake system to direct the unit to move forward, backward, right and left. This analysis aims to determine the types of damage, the cause of damage, knowing step improvement on the excavator motor travel XGMA822EL. The inspection procedure is performed by performing a performance test consisting of pressure test on the hydroulic system. Examination is also done visually on hose hydroulic, control valve, swivel join, travel reducer, travel motor. Further analysis of damage to the motor travel menggunkan fishbone diagram to analyze the cause of damage to travel motor. Result of damage analysis on motor travel, damage to o-ring and plate and disc caused by contaminated motor travel with water and dirt causing blockage of oil hydroulic flow and damaging plate and disc become rusty. Repair steps are done by replacing the damaged components and cleaning all components of the dirt. Precautions by running daily check and preventive maintenance procedures.
