Abstract
This research is motivated in thematic of character learning in curriculum 2013. This curriculum demands teacher’s creatifity in the learning activities. Learning will run monotonous and unattractive if teacher does not have creatifities in teaching. Teacher having creatifities in learning causes the atmosphere of learning to be fun and attractive so that the goal of learning can be achieved with the maximum. The aim of this study is to know teacher’s creativity in improving the quality of thematic teaching of Islamic character learning, effectiveness of teacher’s creativity in thematic teaching of Islamic character learning and also the advantages and disadvantages of teacher’s creativity in improving the quality of thematic teaching of Islamic character learning in the first grade of Nur Hidayah Primary School of Surakarta. The type of this study is field research.The approach of this study is descriptive. Based on this study, the result of this study is eight teacher’s creativities forms in thematic learning; 1) The use of puppets and cards as a medium of learning; 2) The use of songs; 3). The use of Islamic pats; 4) Counting 1-10; 5) Making devision of groups in the classroom and packing lessons such as quizzes or competitions; 6) write Islamic character on the board to be rewritten by students; 7) Make a watchlist; and 8) Giving reward or appreciation to students showing Islamic character.
