Abstract
This experimental research aims to test the effectiveness of empathy building training program on reducing Bullying behavior in SMKN 2 Wonogiri students. We used an experimental research that was designed particularly for this study. We used a psychological scale of bullying behavior intention to collect the data. There are two groups of students that designed as experimental group and control group. Experimental group was given treatment in the form of empathy building training for 2 days. This training uses experiential learning method which is given in two steps, consisting of 6 sessions, i.e: 1)opening session; 2) emotion recognition; 3) saying no for bullying; 4) deepening of empathy; 5) relaxation; and 6) final crystallization. In this study the participant also be taught how to be assertive and empathy towards others. The results of quantitative analysis using Mann Whitney U-test analysis showed that there was a difference in the intensity of bullying behavior between the experimental group and the control group. The final results showed that empathy building training program effective to reduce the bullying behavior in vocational students.
