Abstract

Background: The movement behavior clean living and healthy( PHBS) became a benchmark in the development of health care in order to improve the behavior of the community. PHBS in schools as an effort to deceive students, teachers, and the public school environment in order to know, willing, and able to practice the PHBS and plays an active role in realizing a healthy school. Objective: this research was conducted with the aim to find out the image of clean living and healthy behaviors in elementary school the country Gumpang 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo. Methods: this research is experimental non-shaped type of descriptive analytic study. The population in this study are all grade I-VI of 311 students in the elementary schools of the country Gumpang 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo while samples in research as much as 76 grade I-VI using the techniques of probability sampling with this type of proportional stratified random sampling. The instruments used, namely question form or questionnaire in the test by using a descriptive analysis test. Results: this study showed students most of the PHBS with categories ether include the behavior of hand washing (57.9%), using latrines (68.4%) and dispose of the waste in place (71.1%) while the student behavior of consuming traditional foods by category bad (60.5%). Conclusion: based on the results of the study that the characteristic of elementary school students Land Gumpang 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo mostly with male gender and more aged 10-12 years. PHBS elementary school students Land Gumpang 01 Kartasura Sukoharjo most with good category which includes behavior of hand washing, use of latrines and disposing of waste ice while the behavior of students consume healthy snack bad criteria.
