Abstract

Background: Elderly posyandu is a communication forum, technology transfer, and health services by the society and for society who have strategic value for the development of human resources, especially the elderly. Elderly posyandu of Sondakan District Laweyan Surakarta has 14 elderly posyandu where the number 2 of elderly visit in posyandu activity is relatively low. Based on preliminary observations, one of the factors assumed to be associated with an elderly visit at elderly posyandu of Sondakan District is family support. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between family support with elderly visits in following activities of elderly posyandu. Methods: This research is quantitative research with correlative descriptive method with cross sectional approach. the study population was elderly in elderly posyandu of Sondakan District Laweyan Surakarta, while the study sample was 90 elderly obtained by proportional sampling method. data collection using questionnaire, while data analysis using Chi Square test. Conclusion: The research is family support toward elderly visit in elderly posyandu district of Sondakan mostly is enough (35,6%), elderly visit in follow activity of elderly posyandu mostly is not active (53,3%), and there is relationship between family support and visit of elderly follow elderly posyandu at elderly posyandu of Sondakan District Laweyan Surakarta.
