Abstract

This research aims to 1) Describe the process of learning mathematics through strategy (PBL) Problem Based Learning class VII SMP NU 1 Wonosegoro. 2) Describe the increase of self-reliance learning mathematics after using the strategy (PBL) Problem Based Learning in the seventh grade students of SMP NU 1 Wonosegoro. This type of research is based on qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research design (PTK). Study time is even semester of academic year 2016/2017. Research subjects were students and teachers of SMP NU 1 Wonosegoro. Data collection techniques used are observation, tests, field notes, and documentation. Data analysis techniques, data are analyzed since the learning action is carried out and developed during the reflection process until the final stages of preparing the report. Validity of data in this study using triangulation investigators. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in self-reliance and mathematics learning outcomes through PBL (Problem Based Learning) strategy which included the following aspects: 1) Students can complete their own tasks, 2) Students can solve their own learning problems, and 3) Students can self-immersion.
