Abstract

The aim of this study is 1) Present the structure of novel Acek Botak, 2) to describe the values of nationalism in the novel Acek Botak and 3) implement the values of nationalism in the novel Acek Botak as a instructional materials in the school. The method used in this research is descritive qualitative. The author carefully analyzes the data that has been collected and then concluded. The techniques of collecty data that used in this research is content analysis, in depth interview, and questionnaire. The data validity uses triangulation. The technique of analysis data is uses interaktif and dialetikal technique. The results of the research is 1) Structureal analysis in the novel includes themes (residential search), figure, progressive or progressive grooves, bakgrounds that include a place background (Medan, deli Tua, Tapanuli), time setting, and socio-cultural background, 2) There is nationalism values in novel Acek Botak, ie, There is a sense of love for a common ground, race, nation, or culture; a mystical service to a vague social organism called a nation; the desire for political independence, salvation, and prestige of the nation; and the dogma that teaches that the individual lives only for the nation and tche nation itself; and 3) Suitability of study as literary materials in high school class XII based on indentification of literary works with characteristics of learners and curricullum 2013 on basic competence 3.3 ie, identifying information, which includes orientation, series of interrelated events, complications and resolutions, in oral or written history stories.
