Abstract

ABSTRACT Humans as individuals have a different character from that of other individuals. Hope everyone can have a good character. The confidence-forming indicator is a characteristic of the personality that a person needs to possess. Adolescent self-distrust can be seen from the behavior of withdrawal. Factors that can affect the process of confidence in adolescents, namely interaction within the family, the position of the family as the first vehicle and the main for the child. Parental and child attachment with in it an internal working model emphasizes the formation of strong characters. The purpose of this study as follows: 1) To determine the relationship between parent-child attachment style with self-confidence in early adolescents. 2) Know the parent-child attachment level and confidence in early adolescence. 3) Knowing the role of parent-child attachment style to confidence in early adolescence. The subject in this study is the students of SMP N 1 Sragen from class VIII amounted to 70 students. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The data collection in this research is done by spreading the scale to the students. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1) There is a relationship between parent-child attachment style with self-confidence in early adolescents. 2) The degree category of parent-child attachment and confidence in early adolescence is high. 3) The great role of parents-child attachment style to self-confidence in early adolescence is 21.3% and the remaining 78.7 influenced by other variables.
