Abstract

There are many things who can lead to occurrence a malfunction to road construction, among of is water (inundations). Water (inundations) to be one of the factor from causes occurrence of a malfunction to road construction with asphalt pavement. Road segment in Indonesia who located in around the beach experiencing puddle of sea water who caused mostly by extreme weather so resulting in tidal flooding. Where sea water surface inundate road construction with asphalt pavement. To knowing the influence of sea water to durability and Marshall characteristics need do a research. Research about influence analysis of sea water immersion to durability and Marshall characteristics of mixed Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course this do with bitumen content variation of 4%, 4,5%, 5%, 5,5%, 6%, 6,5% and 7% to total aggregate weight to determine optimum bitumen content. Value of optimum bitumen content is determined by Arrow Range method from Marshall parameter, obtained value optimum bitumen content and than make the sample to standart immersion on immersion variation 0,5 hour and 24 hours, to variation immersion use old immersion of 72 hours, 120 hours and 168 hours. And than Marshall testing and analysis of durability which consist of Index of Retained Strength (IRS), Firs Durability (FDI) and Secondary Durability Index (SDI). Research result prove on variation of asphalt content value 5,4% IRS value immersion 24 hours amount 92,90% with minimum requirement 90% ,so enough durable based IRS value. SDI value continues to grow until it’s wort 0,801% < 1% so enough durable of immersion 120 hours. SDI total value for immersion of 168 hours have a value 14,22% with time limit to tolelir for 111,04 hours. FDI and SDI indicates that of mixed AC-BC continue to lose the power for 168 hours of immersion. Influence of immersion to Marshall characteristics of stability parameter , VIM and VMA increased, of parameter value VFWA , flow and MQ decreased trend for immersion. Influece of old immersion for parameter Marshall characteristics show that Marshall characteristics have a critical time at 60 hours.
