Abstract
In the last few years, the production of oil fuels in Indonesia continues to decline. Other alternative energy sources that are still underutilized such as coal and biomass are needed to reduce dependency on oil fuel. Technology that can convert two different types of fuels such as coal and biomass are co-gasification. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of equivalence ratio (ER) on the gasification performance. The reactor used in this research is fluidized bed type with 160 mm diameter and 1230 mm height. While the fuel used is a mixture of coal-biomass with the composition of 50% -50% and the bed particle used is silica sand with mean diameter 0,385 mm. The results using the water-boiling test method show that the equivalence ratio had an effect on some parameters affecting the performance of the reactor such as reactor temperature, effective flame fire, heat generated, and efficiency. At ER 0.40 the effective flame fire can last for 39 minutes with an efficiency of 13.29%. For ER 0.68 the effective flame of fire was for 46 minutes with an efficiency of 24.76%. As for ER 0.88 the effective flame was for 34 minutes with an efficiency of 15.63%.
