Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the relationship between optimism with work stress on Lotte Grosir Solo Employee. The hypothesis is a negative correlation between optimism with work stress. The subject of this research were 68 employees and it taken by all of the population on Lotte Grosir Solo so it use study population. Data collection tool in this study using a scale of optimism and work stress. Data were analyzed using product moment correlation by SPSS 15.0. The results of the analysis of this research that there is a negative relationship which is significant between optimism with work stress. This is indicated by the value of rxy = -0,251 with Sig. = 0,019 (p<0,05). Optimism of subject implied in high category. Work stress of subject rated low. Effective contribution (SE) of optimism and work stress variable is 6,3%. It means there are 93,7% of other variables that can influence work stress other than optimism.
