Abstract

A good school provides academic and moral educations that is provide general education which is completed by religious education. There are some options to fulfill those needs of students such as full day school. The main aim of this study was to describe and analyse the learning process of full day school at SMAIT Nur Hidayah in Kartasura, Sukoharjo. This research is qualitative with phenomenology approach. The informants of this study was consisted of 4 teachers and 4 students. The data were collected by depth-interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysing methods used in this study was data triangulation. The result showed us that full day has some benefits at providing such potential-developing activities for students based on their own passions and talents which make them feel comfortable, more religious education, good cooperation pattern between school, teachers, parents, and society who were able to mentor students at applying their knowledge. Nevertheless, full day school also had a weakness where teachers tend to use lecturing methods in learning process. Therefore, based on teachers explainations, most of students felt bored and sleepy while studying. Moreover, students tend to give more excuse to do their homework because they were too tired to do it.
