Abstract

This research investigated how the conflict of interests between ethnic as reflected in Terry George’s Hotel Rwanda, especially from A Sociological Perspective. Therefore, the study analyzes the movie in terms of its structural elements and based on the Sociological Perspective. This study belongs to qualitative study. In this method, the writer uses two data sources; they are primary and secondary data source. The primary data source and the object of the study are the movie Hotel Rwanda itself, meanwhile the secondary data sources are any books of literature and sociology related to this study. The writer collects the data from both primary and secondary data source in a sort of document evidence. The result of the study shows that first; Terry George creates structural elements of the movie related with social realities in historical background. Second, the movie of Terry George reflects conflict as interests between ethnic in Africa, especially in Rwanda in twentieth century. In this movie, Terry George gives response, opinion, and sympathy in the social condition.
