Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describes the building structure of the novel Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur, (2) describes the social aspect contained in the novel Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur, (3) describes the implementation of research results on literature learning in SMK. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. This research data in the form of words, sentences, and phrases in the novel Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur. The source of this research data is the novel Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur and the supporting sources in this research. Technique of collecting data used is library technique. Data analysis using dialectical method. The technique of data validity uses triangulation theory. Based on the analysis, the results of this research are (1) the structure of the building of the novel Tanah Surga Merah by Arafat Nur covering the theme of the life of a former activist of Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM) who is a police fugitive, the plot is advanced, the place setting is on Aceh Province, the times setting is February 9, 2014 until February 20, 2014. (2) Social aspects contain social evil, poverty, and education. The social evil include of religion evil, political evil, and morality evil. (3) the results of this study are relevant to the study of literature in class XII with KD 3.1 Understanding the text structure and rules of history, news, advertising, editorial / opinion, and novels either through oral and written in the curriculum 2013.
