Abstract

The use of learning media will affect learning result. In order to obtain an effective learning process, we need a learning media which is able to attract the students‟ attention and to help students‟in understanding the materials presented. Tablet is a portable device which is a mild form of the book entirely in a flat touch screen, the tablet is relatively smaller compared with a desk computer or laptop. The use of tablet as media in learning PAI is expected to improve learning result of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. Factually student learning result is still low because the theaching process still uses conventional media. The aim of the study is to know the effectiveness of the use of tablet as media in the learning of Islamic religious education to the learning result of students in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. The research method used in this study is an experimental research method with the sample from X grade of TKR 4 and X grade of TEI in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. The research design has used pretest-posttest control group design. The test is used for measuring the differences of effectivity using tablet as education media and conventional education media based on the education result criterion. Results of the research has showed that the student learning achievement of PAI (Islamic Religious Education) in the experimental class is more effective than that in the control class. It is seen from the t test that P (0.699) < oc (0.05), so that Ha effectiveness of the use of tablet as a media is higher than the use of conventional learning media in improving the students‟ learning achievement of grade X SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo on PAI subject is accepted. The calculated of normalized gain values between the experimental classes are also higher than the control classes, i.e the normalized gain of the experimental class g = 0.80 and in the control class g = 0.70
