Abstract

This study is aimed at judging whether the content materials,syllabus, and themes in the textbook entitled “Grow with English Textbook 4’, used for the fourth year students of elementary school in Sragen, are compatible with the materials in the 2006 English curriculum or not. The data are the content materials in the textbook mentioned. The data were collected by observing the document of content materials in the textbook and analyzed by comparing the content materials in the textbook to the content materials in the 2006 English Curriculum. The result of the data analysis shows that the quality of the content materials, syllabus, themes in the textbook is good because the score of scheme of qualification of the content materials is 65,75, syllabus is 70%, and themes 100%. Among the six competencies in the 2006 English Curriculum, there are five subcompetencies that are presented with content materials in the textbook. Although the six competencies present content materials as suggested by 2006 English Curriculum. so all of the materials are presented.
