Abstract
In this research, the researcher analysis about the linguistic forms of code mixing, and the reason of using code mixing by the presenters on Black In News in Trans 7 TV. This research is focus on the occurrences of code mixing used by the presenters. This research paper is aimed in answering the problems 1) what the linguistic forms of code mixing are, and 2) what the reason of using code mixing is. The research belongs to a descriptive qualitative research and the research uses documentation methods to get the data. The data are words, phrase and sentence taken from the reality show of Black In News in Trans 7 TV. The researcher takes the data from episodes: October 22nd, 29th and November 05th, 12th, 2008. The results of the research show that there are 117 data which classified into 64 of words which categorized as 34 data of nouns, 1 data of verb, 7 data of adjectives, 3 data of adverbs; 1 data of compounding, 5 data of reduplication, 13 data of hybrid; 34 data of phrases which categorized 32 data of noun phrase, 1 data of verb phrase, 1 data of prepositional phrase; 15 data of clauses which categorized 14 data of main clauses, 1 data of sub clause; and 6 data of sentences which classified as 4 data of imperative sentence, 2 data of declarative sentence. The reason of using code mixing is Prestige Filling Motive.
