Abstract
This study aimed to describe the analysis of student difficulties in solving mathematical problems material system of linear equations of two variables from the aspect of understanding the problem, plan, implement, and check again. This type of research is a qualitative approach. When the study in the first semester of 2015/2016. The research subject class VIII B of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Sambi. Data collection techniques written tests, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data using a triangulation of sources and methods. The study states (1) difficult aspect to understand the problem that students are not accustomed to working on word problems with troubleshooting steps Polya, students still incomplete in writing what is known and questioned on a matter, not understand the concept, and students can not organize the process well ; (2) difficult aspects of planning that students have not been able to make a mathematical model and a low student ability to understand problems, and lack of exercises; (3) difficulties implementing aspects are less conscientious student habit in the calculation, the steps are too long, and one in creating a mathematical model; (4) difficulties rechecking aspect is that students do not know how to check back right, students can not arrange time with good workmanship, and a lazy attitude of students rechecking answer.
