Abstract

This research aims at describing 1) the implementation of tracking to improve students’ pronunciation 2) the result and 3) the students’ responses. This is a descriptive qualitative research. The researcher adopts an action research which consists of four steps, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The researcher takes 10 students as the subjects of the research. The data are the narratives of the implementation of tracking. The sources of the data are taken from the event, documents and informant. The methods of collection are observation, documentation, pre test and post test and also interview. In analyzing the data uses three interactive models namely, reducing, displaying and verifying. After analyzing the data, the researcher finds that there is a good achievement in students’ pronunciation before and after action. The result of posttest is better than pre-test. In pre-test the highest score is 8,0 and the lowest score is 4,5. In post-test the highest score is 8,5 and the lowest is 6,5. The students are interested in learning English by tracking technique because they can learn English by watching the character’s expression and listening to her voice. Overall, the researcher concludes that tracking is appropriate and effective to improve the pronunciation of the third grade the students of SDN Jetis II Sragen.
