Abstract
In this study, the writer wants to know 1) the significant result between pre-test and post-test, 2) to know whether teaching writing narration after using series picture is better than teaching writing before using series picture. This is a pre-experimental study. The subject of the research is 30 students of Muhammadiyah 10 Junior High School, especially class II A. The data are scores pre-test and post-test. From the analysis, the writer can draw a conclusion that in pre-test the highest score is 65, the lowest score is 40 and the mean score 53,86 and the result shows that in post-test the highest score is 95, the lowest score is 60 and the mean score is 80. The result shows that in post-test the students get higher score than the score of pre-test. The t-test shows that there is different writing improvement, the result of to 3,35 is greater than the value of ttabel 2,1. It means that there is significant differenced between the students achievement of pre-test and pos-test. The conclusion drawn from this study is that teaching writing using series of picture to the second year students of Muhammadiyah 10 Junior High School yields good and effective result. The influence of using series of picture can improve the students writing achievement.
