Abstract
The Muria Raya region, encompassing Jepara, Kudus, Pati, Rembang, and Blora Regencies, possesse a diverse range of leading sports disciplines with considerable athlete potential. However, to date, this potential has not been supported by integrated sports facilities. The available facilities remain scattered, limited in capacity, and insufficient to accommodate the needs of athlete development and the organization of regional-scale competitions. At the same time, public interest in sports activities continues to grow, while the availability of inclusive and universally accessible public sports spaces remains critically limited. The Muria Raya Raya Sport Center is proposed as a response to these challenges, serving as an integrated regional-scale sports facility located in Blora Regency, Central Java, covering an area of 10 hectares. The methodology employed encompasses literature study, field study, and precedent study. This design adopts a monumental architectural approach through the arrangement of building massing, form, and facade inspired by teak tree roots as a representation of local identity, as well as the organization of outdoor spaces and a directed circulation system. This approach is further reinforced by the application of universal design principles, realized through the provision of accessible circulation routes, dedicated seating for persons with disabilities, and the arrangement of public spaces that can be enjoyed equally by all members of society. Therefore, the Muria Raya Sport Center is expected to function as a standardized regional sports facility, support athlete development, and serve as a new landmark that is both monumental and inclusive for Blora Regency.
