Abstract

An Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) serves as an educational facility that integrates a traditional pesantren curriculum with modern schooling, blending Islamic teachings with science and technology. In Klaten, international standard pesantren facilities remain scarce—accounting for only about 1.24% of total pesantren institutions, 1.60% of religious teachers (Ustadz), and 1.35% of total students (Santri).To address this gap, the school adopts the Trensains (Science Pesantren) concept, an integrated system that combines a modern science curriculum and Quranic memorization (Tahfidz) with scientific research and technological inquiry, all grounded in Islamic values.The physical design of the campus utilizes a Bioclimatic Architecture approach, ensuring the facility responds dynamically to the local climate and surrounding environment. By optimizing natural vegetation for shade, maximizing daylighting for energy efficiency, and incorporating expansive green open spaces, the architectural design fosters an eco-friendly campus that maintains natural balance.
