Abstract
This study was motivated by the phenomenon of character degradation among some Muslim youth, which indicates the importance of internalizing Islamic aqidah values as the foundation for developing Islamic awareness and character. This study aimed to identify and analyze the aqidah educational values presented, both explicitly and implicitly, in Muhammad Al-Fatih 1453 by Felix Y. Siauw, as well as to examine their relevance to the character development of contemporary Muslim youth. This study employed a library research design with a qualitative descriptive approach using the content analysis method. Data were collected through document analysis, with the primary data source being Muhammad Al-Fatih 1453 by Felix Y. Siauw, published by Al-Fatih Press, second edition, 2013. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings revealed that Muhammad Al-Fatih 1453 by Felix Y. Siauw contains aqidah educational values encompassing all six pillars of faith, namely belief in Allah Subḥānahu wa Ta‘ālā, the angels, the revealed scriptures, the messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree (qadha' and qadar). Overall, these values demonstrate that Islamic aqidah is not merely concerned with matters of belief, but also shapes an awareness of servitude to Allah, as reflected in a Muslim's mindset, attitudes, and behavior. Furthermore, these aqidah educational values are relevant to the character development of contemporary Muslim youth. The internalization of these aqidah values can foster character traits grounded in faith, piety, responsibility, self-control, obedience to Islamic law (sharia), exemplary conduct, an orientation toward the Hereafter, optimism, patience, gratitude, and a balance between human effort and trust in Allah (tawakkul). Therefore, the internalization of these aqidah educational values can serve as a foundation for developing the character of Muslim youth in accordance with Islamic teachings.
