Abstract
The case of Anemia in pregnant women remains a public health concern because it can negatively affect the health of both the mother and the fetus. Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia reached 48.9%, increasing from 37.1% in 2013. Meanwhile, data from the Randublatung Community Health Center (Puskesmas UPTD) showed that the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women increased from 4.4% in 2023 to 19% in 2024. One effort to prevent anemia is by improving pregnant women's knowledge and adherence to Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) consumption. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the correlation between knowledge and compliance with Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) consumption and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the Randublatung Community Health Center (Puskesmas UPTD) work area, Blora Regency. Methods: This study was a quantitative analytical observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size was calculated using the correlative analytical research formula and obtained 60 respondents. Total sampling was used, including all pregnant women in the second and third trimesters who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire, an adherence questionnaire for MMS consumption, and hemoglobin (Hb) level data from health examinations. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. Results: There was a significant association between knowledge level and the incidence of anemia (p = 0.023; OR = 4.11; 95% CI: 1.16–14.51). Furthermore, there was a significant association between adherence to Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) consumption and the incidence of anemia (p = 0.039; OR = 3.07; 95% CI: 1.03–9.09). Conclusion: Knowledge level and adherence to Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) consumption are significantly associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.
