Abstract
The Village Government is the organizer of government affairs and the interests of the local community in the government system of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In the context of village government, the Head of Government Section plays a role as a technical implementing element that assists the Village Head in carrying out operational tasks in the field of government. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation and effectiveness of the government section in carrying out its duties and functions in Grogol Village in 2023-2024. This study uses an empirical legal approach method, where the legal approach is used to identify aspects related to the Sukoharjo Regent's Regulation on the Government Section. Meanwhile, the empirical approach is used to analyze and conduct research directly in the field and community life. This study uses a qualitative approach, qualitative research with an empirical approach that is descriptive by describing, interpreting and describing the collected data systematically and systematically. The results show that the effectiveness of the duties of the Head of Government Section is influenced by legal factors, law enforcement, facilities and infrastructure, community participation and culture, all of which contribute to improving the quality of public services, although challenges still exist, the implementation of the duties of the Head of Government Section has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and has a positive impact on the community
