Abstract
Cellular aging is a condition influenced by the accumulation of cellular damage, leading to a decline in tissue function and an increased risk of degenerative diseases. Factors such as genetics, lifestyle, diet, and environmental exposure play significant roles in the cellular aging process. This study aims to analyze the relationship between glucose and fat intake levels and cellular aging in students of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research method employed a cross-sectional approach with a sample of 100 respondents. Data were collected using the SQ-FFQ questionnaire to measure glucose and fat intake, and the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) device to measure cellular age. The results showed that 85% of respondents had glucose and fat intake exceeding normal limits, and 70% of respondents had a cellular age older than their chronological age. Statistical analysis using the Spearman Rank test revealed a significant positive correlation between glucose intake (p=0.000; r=0.708) and fat intake (p=0.000; r=0.731) with cellular aging. Excessive consumption of glucose and fat contributes to increased oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular damage, which accelerate biological aging. This study concludes that a diet high in glucose and fat is closely associated with cellular aging in students.
