Abstract
The use of social media, especially twitter, is a media that exists among K-Pop fans to get information related to their favorite idol information. This hasled to the formation of many fanbase accounts related to fandom, one of which is @BTS_AHC_IDN. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of the @BTS_AHC_IDN account for BTS fans (ARMY). which is based on the Uses and Gratification theory by Mc. Quail to find out the motives for using social media X by ARMY. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with interview as data collection technique. The results of this study are the reasons fans join @BTS_AHC_IDN on the basis of common identity and fulfillment of needs for mental health information. In addition, the motives of the fans following the account were also obtained. Namely the entertainment motive, the motive for forming self-identity, the motive for integrity space and social interaction and the information motive.
