Abstract

The resreach aims are : 1) Identifying and describing the learning achievement progress on studying of the history of Japanese concept in Indonesia through student team achievement division design on XI st grade of science and ICT of Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar High School in 2009 / 2010 2) Developing the teaching activity on students in a teaching learning process. 3) Achieving a more specific way thorough the model of teaching and the use of students self-learning ability. Based on the aims of the study, namely to improve a history teaching quality, therefore the type of the study is class action study. The subject of the study is the students of XI th grade of the study is the students of science and ICT semester 2 of Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar High School in 2009 / 2010 . The object of the study is the concept teaching Japanese occupation in Indonesia, which is given to the students of XI st th grade of science and ICT, semester two of Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar High School in 2009 / 2010. The Study is designed with Kemmis and Toggart model which has tree cycles. The data are collected with the technique of test, observation, Questionary, interview and documentation. The data are analysed with the technique of interactive analysis of Miles and Hubermann. Based on analysis, the study concludes : 1) The history teaching with the design of student Team achievement division can increase the quality of the history teaching concept of Japan accupation in Indonesia for the students of XI st grade of science and ICT, semester two of Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar High School in 2009 / 2010 especially in achieving the competence mastery of it, classically or individually. It is indicated with the increasing of process impact and product impact of the use of the design of student Team achievement division is increase of the students teacing process completion level and their grade. 2) The impact of history teaching with student team achievement division design to the students behavior which supports the teaching effectiveness on the concept of japan occupation in Indonesia for XI th grade of the study is the students of science and ICT semester 2 of Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar High School in 2009 / 2010 is the increasing of learning activeness and motivation to the students in every cycle.
