Abstract
Students who have reached their final semester, final assignment or thesis are the main academic challenges that must be faced as a graduation requirement. Final semester students often face various obstacles, causing delays in completing final assignments and resulting in graduation that exceeds the normal time limit, one of which is procrastination. Various factors can influence procrastination, for example self-awareness and social support. The aim of this research is to evaluate the tendency of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta students to academic procrastination and their level of self-awareness and social support. The major research hypothesis is that there is a significant simultaneous relationship between self-awareness and social support and students' academic procrastination. Meanwhile, the minor hypothesis is that there is a significant partial relationship between self-awareness and students' academic procrastination, as well as a significant negative relationship between social support and students' academic procrastination. This research uses quantitative correlational. The population of this study were final year students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The sample for this research was 103 final year students at Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta. The sampling technique used is Cluster random sampling. The data collection method uses a self-awareness scale, a social support scale and an academic procrastination scale. The data analysis method used is multiple regression. The research results show that there is a very significant role of self-awareness and social support on academic procrastination (F= 8.789; p = 0.000; p < 0.01). There is a negative role of self�awareness on academic procrastination (t= -2.424; p = 0.007; p < 0.01). There is no role of social support on academic procrastination (t = -1.115; p = 0.268; p < 0.01). The level of academic procrastination among final year students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta is moderate, the level of self-awareness among final year students at Muhammadiyah University is high, and the level of social support for final year students at Muhammadiyah University is high. Effective contributions with details of self-awareness playing a dominant role, namely 10.8%
