Abstract

The current problem in Indonesia is that many students have less than optimal learning achievements. Competition with other countries around the world is based on the number of human resources who attend education and the effectiveness of education. One way to determine the quality of education can be seen from the achievement of learning achievements. The average cumulative grade point average (GPA) is the result of student learning from the first semester to the last semester, to assess how well they learn. One of the factors that influences learning achievement is personality. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Big Five Personality on Student Learning Achievement. The subjects in this study were students of the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with a research sample of 300 students, male and female. Sampling in this study used the proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using the SPSS 27 for Windows program. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence of Big Five Personality on learning achievement of 0.000, which means that there is a significant influence of openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism on the learning achievement of Psychology Students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study can be used as a reference for more comprehensive research, especially those related to the big five personality factors and learning achievement results so as to provide a broader contribution to the world of education.
