Abstract

Prostitute women facing adjustment to a social rehabilitation environment. The aim of this research is to describe the adjustment to the social rehabilitation process experienced by prostituted women. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique used in this research used semi-structured interviews. The informants for this research were 4 prostituted women aged + 17-50 years and who were in institutions. There are two types of adjustments experienced, namely personal adjustment and social adjustment. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative data analysis by Miles and Huberman. The results of the research showed that the four prostitutes experienced different adjustments. In terms of personal adjustment, some felt sad when they had to be in an orphanage so they tried to improve themselves by diligently praying. In terms of social adjustment, there are those who have good relationships with other people in the orphanage and there are those who are badly influenced by their friends so they choose to run away from the orphanage. It is hoped that this research can be used as evaluation material for institutions by improving social and psychological skills programs that are useful for improving personal adjustment, so that informants can carry out the rehabilitation period optimally which can be developed by informants after leaving the institution.
