Abstract
This reaserch aims to examine the effect of caring for the environment and scouting activities on student participation skills as citizens at SMP Negeri 1 Bansari Temanggung Regency. A quantitative approach was used in this research. The research sample was taken from 80 students from grades 7 and 8 who were chosen randomly and proportionally. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaires whose validity and reliability have been tested. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis to determine the effect of variabel X1 and X2 on variabel Y. The result of this research show that there is a positive effect between caring for the environment and scouting activities on student participation skills as citizens at SMP Negeri 1 Bansari with a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05 and the result F count > F table of 13,553 > 3,11. The conclusion is that it is proven that there is a significant effect of caring for the environment and scouting activities on student participation skills as citizens at SMP Negeri 1 Bansari whit a coeficient of determination of 26%. It is recommended that further research be carried out in this research using mixed methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches to provide a deeper understanding of the effect of caring for the environment and scouting activities on student participation skills as citizens.
