Abstract

Ngrowo Bening Edupark Madiun is a tourist destination located in Madiun City. As the name suggests, this tourist destination is an educational park where visitors can experience the sensation of picking fruit and vegetables directly. Before it became an educational park, it was originally an empty land asset belonging to the local PDAM which was then processed and used as an educational park which was only opened in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, as time goes by, the existing facilities begin to experience damage, the current condition of the layout is less than optimal, and the limited facilities and infrastructure reduce the attraction for visitors to visit this tourist attraction. Meanwhile, Ngrowo Bening Edupark has several potentials that can be optimized and developed to increase its attractiveness and number of tourist visitors. Some of these potentials include the existence of agricultural and plantation areas that can be developed as educational and recreation-based tourist attractions. Based on the potential and several problems previously mentioned, the Ngrowo Bening Edupark area has the potential to be developed into an Agrotourism area to increase its attractiveness and number of tourist visits. Therefore, it is also necessary to apply sustainable concepts using a neo-vernacular architectural approach. The neo-vernacular architectural approach was chosen because this concept is generally applied in agrotourism design both directly and indirectly. This approach combines modern designs that suit current needs with traditional designs that appeal to the local environment. In this way, the agrotourism area will have a unique design and be able to attract the interest of visiting tourists.
