Abstract

Currently, the phenomenon of Vocational High Schools has emerged as a societal need, where graduates are educated to be ready to work, have knowledge and skills according to their major and can be accepted for work in a place that suits their skills. This study aims to describe the quality development model and the implementation of the learning process at the Vocational Education Institution at SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri Bantul. This research is qualitative research with a case study type of research. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this research use the stages of data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The research results show that: (1) In planning the learning process, the school principal prepares infrastructure to support the success of the curriculum. To study ISMUBA material, the implementation of the learning process does not only involve cognitive, but motor skills and observation are also involved so that students' grades are taken from students' attitudes in class, practice and written exams. The results of the assessment will be conveyed to parents in a discussion method. Assessment of the results of the learning process, in each chapter there will be written and practical evaluations, students are given the task of making zakat, infaq and alms posters. In addition, students are given memorization assignments so that students want to read. As supervision of the learning process, also for the supervision to the teachers, the school made a duty schedule and monitoring to the teacher on duty. If someone is absent, there will be coaching session, in hope that there will be no teachers that easily leave their duties and as teacher administration assessments. (2) SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri applies the Teaching Factory learning model, which is a concept of learning in product or service-based vocational schools that refers to the standards and procedures that apply in the industry and the implementation atmosphere is made resemble to what happens in industry. SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri has facilitated students by building their own laboratories and has collaborated with large industries in the hope of transferring technology and builds the industrial culture itself. So the students gain direct practical experience, team-based learning experiences involving students, teaching staff and industry participation are able to enrich the educational process and provide real benefits for all parties.
