Abstract
Problem solving skills are important skills in learning. Problem solving skills can be a medium for students to sharpen their critical, careful, logical, critical, and creative reasoning skills. Problem solving skills are one aspect of 21st century skills that are very much needed in learning. This study aims to determine students' problem solving skills in solving story problems on integer and fractional materials based on Polya's Theory. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with the research subjects being grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Masaran Sragen. Data collection techniques use tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques. Qualitative data analysis interactive model, including: Data reduction, Data Presentation and Conclusion Drawing. The results of the study showed that students with low problem solving skills were less good at making plans, implementing plans, and looking back. Students with moderate problem solving skills were less good at the indicators of implementing plans and looking back at answers. Students with high problem solving skills were almost good at all problem solving indicators.
