Abstract

This research aims to describe the types of errors that are often made by class students, the sources of errors made by students, and the types of errors that are most often made by 4th- grade students at elementary school Ngabeyan 01. The data collection technique used in this research is a structured test where the researcher has prepared questions, this test was done by class 4 students, totaling 11 students. The data analysis consisted of 3 steps, categorizes error, recapitulating error, drawing conclusion. The results of this study found 81 errors, with deletion errors of 16.04%, addition errors of 6.17%, formation errors of 75.04%, and sequencing errors of 3.70%, with the most common source of error being intralingual transfer nsamely 80.24% while interlanguage transfer was 19.75%. Based on the research above, there are still many students who make errors in writing English, which is caused by the influence of their first language or mother tongue.
