Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the occupational diseases that can often be found in industrial workers. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is an occupational disease that arises because of the narrowing of the carpal tunnel at the wrist so that it can limit the function of the wrist. This study aims to determine the relationship between work period and repetitive motion with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in cigarette rolling workers of PT Panen in Boyolali. This research method uses observational quantitative research with a cross sectional study design conducted in December 2023 with a population of 200 people, while the sample was 132 people. This data collection uses primary data accidental sampling technique which is then analyzed by the spearman rank statistical tests. The results of the analytical test used show that there is a relationship between the length of service with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (p-value = 0.000) with a correlation strength (r = 0.590), there is a relationship between repetitive movements with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (p-value = 0.000) with a correlation strength (r = 0.524). Thus it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the working period and repetitive movements in cigarette rolling workers of PT Panen Boyolali towards complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with moderate relationship strength and positive relationship direction. Suggestions for always paying attention to and improving the quality of workers' health and rolling workers can stretch their hands before, after, or in between rolling cigarettes
