Abstract

This research aims to examine the social media phenomenon TikTok and its impact on adolescent morality in Dempel Village, Ngawi. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological design involving active TikTok users, namely teenagers aged 10-19 years and their parents. The focus of the study is directed at adolescent morality caused by the TikTok phenomenon. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observation or direct observation, and documentation. The results of thematic analysis with Nvivo 12 Plus show that there is moral degradation caused by the popularity of TikTok. This can be shown by the intensity of teenagers using the TikTok application, which is more than their study time and the large number of inappropriate uses of language in everyday life. This identifies that many teenagers in Dempel Village have shifted their moral orientation. From this problem, it is certain that there is a need for supervision and control from parents over children when using social media, especially on the TikTok platform. This research contributes to providing insight into the moral development of teenagers in Dempel Village in using the TikTok application.
